Like A Hapless Monkey

Ill feelings

Towards

That blackened heart

Infect my mind

She causes the beast

To savagely

Tear apart my senses

My heart

Burns

At the thought

Of remaining here

Forever

I can’t keep up

Pretenses

And lying to those

Who pay me

I’m dancing

To their tune

Like a hapless monkey

Paid to jig

And entertain the masses
