Guilty as Charged

I’m guilty of breaking
My own rules of morality
Of trampling
on my own code of justice
I am guilty of doing this
And so much more

And yet I am quick to accuse others
of so easily forgetting
That there are natural codes of ethics
we must follow closely
And I reproach them for
dancing merrily
and without care
upon the concrete tablets
on which my rules are written

If there is a law for such an abuse
of my own conscience
Then I’m guilty as charged
Put me away
For as long as is needed.
